Our Journey

Our Journey

I don’t know how many of the lessons learned in this process will be useful to be shared on any forum but before I go any further, let me begin by saying that prayer and perseverance have blurred the lines. They are many times we wanted to give up, but we simply had to trust God who called us to do it because He is faithful. In the early days, it felt like a roller coaster ride. Some days we would go home exhilarated by God’s provisions and how He has used circumstances to give us joy, other days we would feel at the end of our rope. However, throughout the process, our faith has deepened in a way we can’t imagine.

We are now ready to launch with 29 adults who are willing to run the race and carry out the mission and vision of Harvest Georgetown. Thankfully, God does not use our team alone to accomplish this task. We have been blessed by the support of Harvest Indy West, to whom God has given the great responsibility to coach us. We are so thankful for the love and generosity demonstrated to us by our Indy West family. Though God did not design our mind to figure out the future, which is far beyond our capability, we deeply believe that He has great things in store for us and is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we can ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

Planting a church in an unreached area like Georgetown is a grueling marathon, not a quick sprint. We have had many challenges but also many blessings. We are still in search of an office space which would allow us to have a strong presence in the Georgetown community. However, finding a building to launch the church was the most difficult task for us. Despite all the roadblocks, God has immensely blessed us by providing a place where we can do set up and tear down. This means, we need more committed volunteers to serve alongside us to ensure a smooth flow of our service on Sundays. We are now at the last quarter mile of the race and it’s the most thrilling point. We are giving all our energy to finish strong.

Pray that we will continue to remember Jesus’ promise in Matthew 16:18 “I will build my church.” As it describes His plan for Harvest Georgetown. We saw this grand purpose beginning to take shape in 2014 when He called us to go into fulltime ministry. Our desire is to preach the Gospel and see people come to faith through the power of the Holy Spirit, understanding how wide and deep God’s love is, and experiencing it for themselves. As we submit our lives to God’s pruning knife, pray that any part of us that is not of Christ be trimmed away so that we may grow in grace and mature in our walk with Him.
